Description(English) | Quite a few students and workers spend much time dealing with assignments or tasks in cafes, where they have to charge laptops, tablets and smartphones. These days, it is a must for cafes to adopt installation boxes for additional outlets for the convenience of their customers. Yet, mostly, outlets are installed under the chairs or mounted low on walls for the sake of aesthetics. Therefore, customers cannot but bend over looking for outlets. Sometimes they need to crawl around under the table to plug their devices in. Still, they find it hard to locate the slots on an outlet even while bending over, and thus it takes some trial and error to find the sweet spot. The proposed socket is intended to cope with the inconvenience of lowering the head and bending over to use an outlet always mounted below the line of sight as well as of shining a torch, fumbling for the exact slots on an outlet and going through some trial and error in the dark under the desk. There are many conceptually designed sockets, which however are hard and financially infeasible to commercialize. With minimum alteration to existing structures, the proposed design takes into account higher practicality and commercial viability with lower budget. |
