Description(English)	A main goal for medical services are not limited to a treatment. It expands from a person’s whole-cycle care to “healthy community”. The hospital goes beyond medical services by opening its space to public through a transparent atrium to connect with community. The atrium is surrounded by permanent art installations, and leads to art gallery and auditorium providing diverse cultural events. The circulation, expressed with same material, connects floors and emphasizes the movement, and the art installation moves with slight air movement reflecting lights. In other words, the open space comes to life by people and art, and heals the community.
Description(Native)	의료서비스란 단순히 개인의 현상적인 질병치료에 국한되지 않고, 예방과 사후관리를 포함한 개인의 통합적인 질병치료와 더 넓은 범위로 “건강한 지역사회 형성”이 궁극적인 목표라 할 수 있습니다. 지역기반시설로서의 메디플렉스 세종병원은 이러한 역할에 그 중심을 두고 환자안전과 감염관리를 최우선으로 고려하는 의료공간 서비스를 제공함과 동시에, 공공에게 개방된 투명한 아트리움 공간을 통해 지역사회와 연결하고 상설예술작품과 전시장 및 교육공간을 아트리움과 연계하여 제공함으로써, 개인의 신체적인 건강을 넘어 지역사회의 문화적, 정신적인 건강을 돌보는 공간을 만들었습니다. 이를 위해 건물의 매스는 최대한 심플하게 구성하여 의료진과 환자의 동선을 최우선적으로 배려함과 동시에, 지역과의 연결점이 되는 아트리움을 유리를 사용해 개방감을 극대화하고, 여기에서 시작되는 내부 동선의 흐름이 같은 재료로 표현되어 "연결성"이 강조 될 수 있게 하였습니다. 투명한 공간에 노출되는 연결동선을 통해 움직이는 사람들과 이들의 다양한 행위를 통해 멈춰있는 건물에 생동감을 부여하고, 여기에 빛과 공기의 흐름을 반영하는 예술품을 더해 예술과 문화가 있는지역사회를 치유하는 열린 병원이 완성되었습니다.
