Description(English) This is a four-storied multi-tenant building on a narrow site located. Special attention was given to insolation to sunlight and eyesight on the east and west elevations.
For insolation, aluminum mesh is fitted to the ALC outer wall just like rattan blinds to block the sunlight most effectively, with their curves allowing for expansion in summer and contraction in winter. The difference in color of all adjacent pieces helps any partially replaced piece not to distinguish itself. It was broken down and were rearranged to five Japanese traditional colors, which provide eye-catching effect and landscape preservation.
Description(Native) 渋谷と原宿の間にある細長い敷地の西をファイアストリート、東を山手線・宮下公園に挟まれ、“両A面”となる東西立面への日射と視線に特に配慮した、4階建てのテナントビル。
日射に対しては、それを最も効果的に遮る“すだれ”のように、ALC外壁にアルミのメッシュを掛けました。
アルミ板は、厚さ僅か2mmと構造に負担をかけぬよう軽くし、夏冬の伸縮を許容するようRを付け、人力でメンテ出来るようバラバラにし、部分的に交換しても目立ぬよう隣合う色を全て変えました。
またその色は、「旧館の記憶を残す要望」「近隣の景観の連続」「ファイアストリートの名称」から基調を定め、それを(五輪会場も近く外国人にも日本らしさや繊細さが伝わるよう)「茜色」「海老茶」「桧皮色」「弁柄色」「栗色」と日本の伝統色5色に分解・再編成し、集まる視線と景観保全に配慮しました。
一方テナント内部は、対岸に連続する公園の緑を最大限借景すべく全幅横連窓とし、雑然たる渋谷の中で、身も心も快適な執務空間の提供を目指しました。
「慶雲」とは、実は先代オーナーの戒名が由来ですが、それは偶然にも「瑞兆を示すとされる夕空の雲」の意味でした。東京オリンピックを6年後に控えた代々木体育館に向かって上るここファイアストリートで、夕暮れ時のうろこ雲のようなこのビルが、人々に「良い兆し」を感じさせてくれればと願っています。
