Description(English) | Ganna studio is a 40 years apartment which locates in downtown Taipei. It is not merely functioned as an interior design studio but a cozy home for two designers. All the houses in this community are preserved for several decades and can be traced back to the ancient Taipei. In order not to destroy those old historical elements, the building structure was left untouched. In this 53 square meters house, the designers try make a balance between work and life. Each area in the house has to be multi-functional. To be more concise, the meeting table is also a dining area, and the living room also serves as a show room for the visitors or clients. Some special characteristics are adopted in order to separate different areas. First of all, five revolving panels are adopted to be the partition wall between two spaces. When panels are opened, spatial perception will be enlarged; even people in the working zone can enjoy the sunlight and the garden view. When panels are closed, people in the working zone and the meeting room can work independently can have privacy at the same time. Secondly, the traffic flows are carefully designed so different users would not bother each other. Workers would not interrupt the meeting and the client would not pass by the working area while visiting the show room (living room). Thirdly, meeting room and the working area are designed to be in the same side so the users can enjoy their leisure time off work. |
