Description(English)	Air pollution kills 7 million people a year. Most of the victims are from developing countries. Large cities in developing countries lack green areas so that air pollution gets worse and threatens people’s health. It is therefore paramount to increase green areas in cities in very cheap, fast, ecofriendly ways. That’s why “Tetraforest” was designed. Tetraforest increases the percentage of green areas in cities, by simply using recycled materials. All that needs to be done is making a wall structure by connecting reused PET bottles with joints made from recycled plastic, and training vine plants on it.
Description(Native)	뭄바이에 사는 어린이 한 명이 매일 마시는 공기가 담배 2갑만큼 유해하다는 연구결과가 있습니다. 실제로 매년 공기 오염 때문에 700만 명이 사망하고, 이들은 대부분 개발도상국 출신입니다. 그 원인 중 하나는 개발도상국 도시의 녹지 면적 부족입니다. 개발도상국의 도시들은 선진국의 다른 도시들 만큼 산업화하여 있는 경우가 많지만, 그를 정화할 수 있는 녹지 면적은 선진국들보다 훨씬 부족합니다. 선진국에서 녹지 면적을 늘리기 위해 도입된 식물 벽들도, 비용과 기술적 문제 때문에 개발도상국에서 널리 사용되지는 못하고 있습니다. 그래서 제가 디자인한 것은 개발도상국에서 낮은 수준의 비용과 기술로 빠르게 만들 수 있는 녹색 벽에 대한 Tetraforest라는 컨셉디자인입니다. 방파제 블록(Tetrapod) 모양으로 페트병을 연결해서 모듈을 만들고, 그 모듈을 쌓아서 큰 구조물을 만들어서 거기에 덩굴식물을 부착하는 것이 핵심입니다. 이 디자인이 적용되면 개발도상국의 녹지 부족과 대기오염 문제를 저렴하고 빠르게 해결할 수 있습니다. 디자인 프로세스에서 3D 프린팅된 작은 크기의 모형으로 구조에 대한 실험이 이루어졌습니다.
