Description(English) | Loofah fiber are commonly used in Taiwanese culture, from household items to folk art. This project aims to use nature as the body and ceramic clay slurry as the method to transform the fiber, which is easily affected by the environment, into a ceramic material through firing, attempting to give the material a semi-permanent existence. Testing the formability of different fiber structures on the mortar, not all of which can be successfully imprinted. Among the feasible fiber structures, testing the thickness of the applied mortar and the structural strength to determine a stable approach in the experiment. |

Judging Comments | This project innovatively combines loofah fiber with ceramic clay slurry, transforming the traditionally perishable material into durable ceramics through firing. By testing various fiber structures and mortar thicknesses, the design achieves a stable, semi-permanent material. This method preserves cultural heritage while promoting sustainability, earning high praise for its creative integration of nature and technology. |
