Description(English) | Chongkyo Church, established in 1900, holds the distinction of being the first church in Korea. It has served as a cornerstone in the mission to spread the gospel of God. The name originated from "Chongchimkyo," a bridge that once stood in front of the church. After 125 years of history, the church eeded a new identity. TOBE developed a new identity that emphasizes intergenerational connection and passes on its history. The design embodies the inspiration drawn from the meaning of 'bridge'. The new identity captures the core values of faith and inclusion, with the vision of building bidges of faith across time, place for the next 100 years. |
Description(Native) | 종교교회는 1900년, 미국 남감리교회에서 파송된 최초 선교사에 의해 설립된 대한민국 초대 교회로 하나님 복음을 전파하는 초석 역할을 해온 상징적 교회입니다. ‘종교’라는 이름은 교회 앞에 놓여 있던 다리 ‘종침교’에서 유래한 지명으로 시작해 하나님과 세상, 역사와 미래, 너와 나를 잇는 상징적 의미로 확장되며 교회 정체성을 대변하게 되었습니다. 125년 전통과 역사를 이어온 종교교회는 고유한 스토리와 가치를 오늘날의 감각에 맞춰 널리 알릴 수 있는 새로운 정체성 확립이 필요했습니다. TOBE는 세대 간 통합, 열린 신앙 공동체 형성, 오랜 역사와 가치 계승에 중점을 두면서 현대적 감각의 아이덴티티를 개발했습니다. 교회명에 담긴 ‘다리’의 의미를 시각적으로 형상화한 디자인 모티프를 통해 125년 헤리티지를 담백하면서 깊이 있게 재해석하였습니다. 새로 정립된 아이덴티티는 믿음과 포용의 가치를 담아내며 향후 100년의 역사, 지역, 세대에 믿음의 다리를 넓혀가고자 합니다. |
