Ovidiu Hrin is a designer & art director in Timisoara (Romania) working internationally from Synopsismedia™ the versatile design studio he founded in 2001. Throughout the years Ovidiu’s work has been published in more than 100 relevant international design books and periodicals, and his works have been awarded and featured by prestigious institutions like The Red Dot Design Award, Type Directors Club New York, European Design Awards, Graphis Design Annual New York to name just a few. Ovidiu’s posters have been exhibited in honorable company all around the globe: Art Directors Club NY, The Cooper Hewitt, Toyama Poster Triennial, Chaumont Festival, Brno Biennial, Golden Bee Biennial, AIGA etc. A selection of his posters are also part of the permanent poster collection of the Museum fur Gestaltung in Zurich. 

Ovidiu is recognized as an active design voice both in Timisoara and nationwide in Romania where, through cultural and educational projects and workshops he continuously lectures and pleads on the importance of graphic design as an active practice. In 2011 Ovidiu launched Typopassage™ - a design and typography micro-museum network intended as a platform for showcasing Romanian and international designers, illustrators and typographers to the general public. The concrete goal of this initiative is facilitating a creative dialogue between the invited artists/designers and the local community. After the first 12 years the slow and natural growth of a place where new interactions can be offered between the public and the exhibited artists doesn’t seem so far fetched. Through this initiative Ovidiu managed to bring over, promote and exhibit to the Romanian public relevant designers like Milton Glaser, Mirko Ilic, Ian Anderson (TheDesignersRepublic), Hijalti Karlsson, Jan Wilker, Nelu Wolfensohn, Stefan Sagmeister and many more.
