After earning his bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from Seoul National University, Choi Yungil joined the landscaping team at Hyundai Engineering & Construction in 2006. His first project was the redevelopment of Jamsil District 3, which was at the heart of the reconstruction boom at the time. Through this project, he moved beyond the conventional approach of reproducing nature-friendly spaces and experienced the scenic value of sophisticated and impactful landscapes provided to residents. Subsequently, his overseas assignments in Vietnam and Singapore exposed him to the language of global designers, fostering a deep interest in collaborations with art that enhance the enjoyment of everyday life. This interest eventually extended to landscape design for newly launched luxury residential brands, including projects with concepts akin to modern art museums.

His representative works include "The H Honor Hills", which ranks as the highest-rated apartment landscape design among Korea's Top 50 Landscapes, "The H GaePo Xi", which boldly introduced art collaborations across its exterior, and the landscape design and planning of "Olympic Park Foreon", Korea's largest residential complex. Notable projects also include "Our Dad’s Playground", the world's first collaboration with Anthony Browne, a globally renowned children's author from the UK; pioneering the use of futuristic 3D printing technology for asymmetrical benches and the world's first 3D-printed playground; organizing the Hyundai Public Art Award 2021, the first art competition for residential complexes in Korea, which was exhibited at the Seoul Arts Center in collaboration with the Seoul International Sculpture Festa 2021; and the SNU Hyundai Art Award, a collaboration with the Seoul National University Center for Arts and Culture.
