Description(English)	This mall has a landmark called 'Starfield Library'. However, this mall needed another landmark, and a new landmark can easily leave an impression on people, and we designed it with the idea that the space should go beyond having a character and become a 'symbol' to function as intended. This space is a ‘public space’. If a ‘public space’ is not helpful to tenants, its reason for existence will be lost. That’s why we thought that this place should be used as a ‘place’ rather than a ‘path’ for people. That way, the time spent in this space will be longer and more opportunities to look at tenants will be given.
Description(Native)	'스타필드 코엑스몰'은 기존에 '별마당 도서관'이라는 이정표가 있습니다. 다만 광활한 공간에 하나의 이정표는 사람들에게 방향을 제시하기에 역부족이었습니다. 그래서 저희는 기존의 '별마당 도서관'과 성격이 다른 이정표를 계획하였습니다. 새로운 이정표는 캐릭터를 가지고 있어서 사람들에게 각인이 쉽게 될 수 있는데 저희는 그 공간이 캐릭터를 가지는 것을 넘어 하나의 '상징물'이 되어야 의도에 맞게 작동할 수 있을 것이라고 생각하며 디자인했습니다. 이번 프로젝트의 공간은 여러 사람이 널리 이용하는 ‘공용 공간’입니다. 그리고 그 공간의 주변에는 다수의 테넌트가 존재합니다. 사용자, 그리고주변 테넌트들과 관계를 맺고 있는 ‘공용 공간’로서의 적합한 디자인이 무엇인지 프로젝트가 진행되는 내내 고민했습니다. 특히 주변과 사람과의 밀접한 관계 형성이 그 존재의 이유인 ‘공용 공간’의 존재감이 주변의 테넌트에게 득보다는 실이 된다면 그 ‘공용 공간’의 생명력은 사라지고 말 것이라고 생각했기 때문입니다. 그래서 우리는 이 프로젝트의 공간이 사람들에게 동선으로서 인지되기 보다는 '장소'로서 사용되는 것이 필요하다고 생각했습니다. 그래야 이 공간에서 머루를 시간이 길어지고 주변의 테넌트를 바라볼 수 있는 기회가 더 주어질 수 있기 때문입니다.
