Description(English)	The new resident is a family of six, a grandmother, a couple, and 3 children. The 1st floor is a compact living space for the grandmother, and the family of five wants to be a house where many friends gather, so the 2nd floor has a large LDK room. The dining kitchen on the 1st floor and the LDK on the 2nd floor were designed as a public area. The floors in the public area were tiled, and the finishing materials were continuous as much as possible to connect the spatial experience. We intended that the boundary between the two households would become ambiguous, and a situation that can be called a "1.5-family house" would be created.
Description(Native)	日本では二世帯住宅というと、玄関を2つ備えるなど、居住空間が完全に分離される例も多いが、このプロジェクトでは、元々一世帯向けに設計されている住宅を二世帯住宅に改修するため、共用するもの、しないものを整理する必要があった。 新しい住まい手は祖母、父、母、子供（兄・弟・妹）の6人家族である。1階は祖母の生活が完結できるコンパクトな居住空間とし、5人家族世帯は多くの友人が集まる家にしたいとのことから、2階は一室大空間のLDKとした。 1階のダイニングキッチンと2階のLDKは、廊下との間をガラス引戸で仕切り、廊下と階段を介して繋がるパブリックスペースと捉えて設計した。寝室以外の場所を2家族のパブリックエリアと捉えると、庭で遊ぶ子供を見ながら、1階ダイニングキッチンで祖母と友人が談笑したり、2階に夫婦友人が集まっている間、子供は1階で遊んだりと、二世帯間の境界は曖昧になり、「1.5世帯住宅」とでも呼べる状況が生まれるのではないかと考えている。 クライアントは来客をもてなす家にしたいとのことから、小さなホテルのような空間づくりを行った。パブリックエリアの床はタイル仕上げとし、仕上げ材はなるべく連続させることで空間体験を接続していった。逆に3階の寝室は仕上げを全く変えるなど、空間体験を切り、ホテルの客室のように、家族だけのプライベート空間を確保した。結果として、商空間と住空間を行ったり来たりするような多義的な住宅となり、様々な使い方を許容できる豊かさが生まれたのではないかと考えている。
