Description(English)	SAIDAM is a stay project offering extraordinary experiences and sustainable rest through the spatial language of gaps. It challenges Korea’s standardized stay model—focused on aesthetics and scenery—by reinterpreting natural voids. Located in Yeongwol, Gangwon-do, SAIDAM uses the site’s topography to create horizontal and vertical gaps, replacing functional layouts with ecological openness. Communal facilities are relocated underground for flexible, time-based use, while private circulation allows intimate, independent movement. SAIDAM proposes a new model for sustainable design through spatial flexibility and nature-responsive architecture.
Description(Native)	사이담(SAIDAM)은 ‘틈’이라는 공간 언어를 통해 비일상적 경험과 지속 가능한 쉼을 제안하는 새로운 형태의 스테이입니다. 현재 한국에서 주목을 받은 스테이 시장은 감성적인 인테리어와 자연 풍경, 자쿠지 등 ‘성공 공식’이 획일화되며 본래의 차별성과 신선함을 잃어가고 있습니다. 이에 사이담은 획일화된 기존 스테이 산업의 한계를 넘고자, 자연 속 틈을 공간적으로 해석하여 자연과의 여백 속에서 일상의 반복을 탈피하고, 새로운 감각을 경험할 수 있는 공간을 설계하였습니다. 강원도 영월에 위치하였으며, 산속의 입지를 적극 활용해 수평·수직의 틈을 공간화하고 흔히 경험할 수 있는 기존 스테이의 '기능 중심의 구성'을 덜어낸 자리에 자연을 유입시켰습니다. 객실에서 덜어낸 부수적인 공간들은 지하 공용층에 배치해 사용자가 시간에 따라 자유롭게 경험하도록 했으며, 전 객실은 모두 다른 평면으로 구성해 매 방문마다 사용자의 선택에 의해 새로운 동선을 제공할 수 있도록 하였습니다. 또한 각 객실에는 프라이빗 코어가 배치되어있으며, 이는 사용자들이 독립적 동선을 통해 전 층을 이용할 수 있게 구성하였습니다. 사이담은 공간의 틈을 매개로 한 유연한 공간 구성과 자연 순응적 설계를 통해 새로운 여가 방식과 지속 가능한 공간 디자인의 방향을 제시합니다.
