Description(English)	AIWA nursery rebuilt building-age to reach the 40th anniversary. ①The nursery where children can read a lot of picture books anywhere anytime in. ②The nursery where local people can use like a local public hall is opened to district. The demands from teachers were strongly mentioned above other than a general thing. AIWA is the oldest in this district, and much number of children, and there is a family entering for parent and child three generations. It's right the nursery which took root in the area. We tried to embody the thought of teachers and started with teachers a design to make the nursery which became the scenery of their town.
Description(Native)	愛和保育園は40周年を迎える年建替えました。①子供たちが絵本を好きな時にたくさん読める保育園。②将来は地区の「公民館」の様な場所として、地域の人達に開放できる保育園。先生からの要望は、広さの事や安全の事等一般的な話しはありましたが、この２点が強調された要望でした。愛和保育園はこの地域で一番古く、一番園児数も多く、親子3代入園と言う園児もいる、まさに地域に根差した保育園です。先生の思いを具現化し、町の風景となる保育園を作ろうと園長先生達とスタートしました。沖縄建材のロングセラーがあります。それは花ブロック。戦後沖縄の頃から作られた建材で今尚、多くの建築で使われていて多様なデザインがあり汎用性が高く安価な建材です。その花ブロックをファサードのデザインに大々的に取り入れ、使用するに当たりマリオンやトランザムなど構造を見せず、花ブロックをメインにした外観を目指しました。数千個を使う今回は、オリジナルのデザインも可能でしたが、既製品を使いました。オジィやオバァ、お父さんやお母さんの心の原風景のどこかに映像として残っているデザインだと思えたからです。2階は、建具を全部仕舞うと450名以上収容出来るホールになります。卒園した園児が大きくなり地域の青年会に入る将来、公民館の様にこのホールが地域に開放され、親がそうであったように、先輩からエイサーを教わる事でしょう。地域の子供達がすくすく育つ場として、地域の文化継承の場として、地域の風景として、愛和保育園が今後もこの地に在ってくれると嬉しい。
