Prof. Shingo Ando

Shingo Ando graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts and received a master's degree in design from the graduate school. After being a professor of product design at Kyoto Seika University, he became professor at Kyoto Art and Crafts University. Specialty is office space, commercial space, interior design of living space and product design such as furniture, and craft designing field. He has also served as vice president of the Japan Interior Designers’ Association (JID) and officials of the Kansai Interior Planner Association, and he is also active in society. In recent years, he has been active as a creative director to revitalize Japanese traditional local industry. In addition, he emphasizes the cultivation of traditional crafts, and has released products based on "Japanese aesthetic sense" at Milano Salone, Paris Design Week, Shanghai Design Center and others.
